Prevent Fungus from Growing with Mentax Butenafine Topical Gel Part 1

Butenafine hydrochloride is a synthetic benzylamine fungicide, promoted under the brand name Generic Mentax. It is associated with synthetic allylamine antifungal agents such as Terbinafine (brand name Lamisil) with respect to structure. Generic Mentax topical gel prevents fungus from developing on your skin. It is principally applied to take care of athlete's foot, jock itch (fungal infection of the groin), and ring worm.

Drug Pharmacology

Butenafine hydrochloride is an inodorous crystalline powder in white color and is freely dissolvable in methyl alcohol, ethyl alcohol, and chloroform, and faintly dissolvable in water.

Similar to all the allylamine fungicides, Generic Mentax (Butenafine) functions by blocking the synthesis of ergosterol with the inhibition of squalene epoxidase, an enzyme accountable for the generation of sterols required in fungal plasma membranes. Being without ergosterol, the plasma membranes improve in permeability, permitting their substances to pour out.
